Part Exchange

As a general rule we do not guarantee to buy back instruments or bows. There may be exceptions. We are of course happy to do a Part Exchange on an instrument that we have previously sold, but this will depend upon its condition and will only be offered if there is a significant upgrade in the new purchase. This price will be a percentage of the original sale price, and will be determined by what work we need to put into it to make it saleable at a now second hand price, and also on the amount of the upgrade. We usually expect the upgrade to be about 50% higher than the instrument previously sold. We will not Part Exchange any instrument that has been damaged while in the owners possession. The instrument will have to be in a good and saleable condition. Please retain your original receipt.

Bows invariably need a re-hair, and often a thumb grip and lapping, and even a new face, in addition to being cleaned. Any Part Exchange will be on an individual basis and will depend on the condition of the bow.
